J.P.B. supplies saithe, also known by its scientific name as “Pollachius virens”, from Norway. The fish is dried and salted. The saithe is a long fish, the body in the middle is larger while the ends are growing narrower. Saithe is a good source of protein.
PACKING
We supply the saithe in 9 kg cartons.
USAGE
The saithe can be prepared in various ways. The most common way in Norway is to boil small pieces of the saithe together with sliced onions, potatoes, tomatoes, red pepper and spices.
SHELF LIFE
Saithe has a shelf life of 12 months when kept at the right temperature i.e. 3 to 5 Celsius.
TRANSPORT
Saithe is loaded in 40-ft HC reefer containers.
